Make St. Maarten/St. Martin a Post-Pandemic Incentive Destination

The beautiful hidden gem of an island, St. Maarten/St. Martin has just about come all the way back from the devastation of Hurricane Irma in 2017. Many of the wonderful resorts have been rebuilt and gorgeous beaches restored. We’ve had the pleasure of visiting the island for numerous programs in the past and look forward to returning soon. Below are some of the plentiful sights and activities that can be found there all year round.

Whale Watching

Whales are magnificent creatures and getting the opportunity to see one is truly an unforgettable experience. During the months of December through April is the perfect time to guarantee a sighting because they migrate to the Caribbean waters for warmth in order to mate. There are several tour companies that organize day trips on either sailing or motorboats. Wind Adventures is a charter company on the French side that will take you on the water to see these impressive mammals. Be prepared to spend the day on the boat as you patiently wait to see a whale or if you’re lucky you might even see a few of them.

A Spectacular Oasis

Located on two beautiful beaches, Grand Case Beach Club has some of the most stunning views on the island. This intimate property has easy access to the well-known culinary scene of Grand Case. In order to ensure safety measures, the owners have set in place protocols such as contactless check-in and check-out, 24-hour minimum vacancy between guests, doctors available 24/7, regularly sanitized high-traffic areas and floors marked for social distancing.

Quads & Furious Tours

Quads and Furious is a great ATV touring company that offers guided tours throughout the island of Saint Martin covering both the French and Dutch side. During your ride you will be able to discover all of the islands best kept secrets and the spots that only locals know about.

Sunbathe or Swim

Baie Rouge Beach won Trip Advisor’s Traveler’s Choice awards for best beaches in 2020 and it’s easy to understand why. Soft white sand, clear beautiful water and a calming breeze make this beach a perfect relaxing getaway.

Make sure to pack a picnic for the day as there are no restaurants and facilities on the beach. You can also bring your own lounge chairs and an umbrella if you want to shade yourself from the sun. If you would like Instagram worthy pictures then I suggest doing a photoshoot by the pretty colorful stairs. It’s recommended to bring snorkeling gear since there is a wide variety of fish in the water. The parking area can fill up pretty quickly so it’s best to leave early in the morning to guarantee getting a spot.
